Activity Poem: Mice Are Nice

Page history last edited by Meredith Ann Pierce 17 years, 1 month ago

"Mice Are Nice"

This activity poem is a sure-fire winner for Preschool and Kindergarten audiences.

Kids naturally identify with mice--and probably haven't heard this one before.  It's an ideal combination of novelty and popular subject matter.  Enjoy!

I think mice are rather nice.

Their tails are long, their faces small.

They haven't any chins at all.

Their ears are pink: their teeth are white.

They run around the house at night.

They nibble things they shouldn't touch,

And no one seems to like them much--

But I think mice--are nice!

(indicate self, nod)

(fingers indicate long, small)

(shake head, touch chin)

(touch ears, teeth)

(hand runs around like a mouse)

(shake forefinger censoriously)

(hands on hips)

(indicate self, nod)
