"The Hippo's Mouth"
This activity poem works equally well with hippos, dinosaurs, or 'gators. Preschoolers and Kindergarteners especially love to make the chomping motion.

The hippo has a great big mouth
With four teeth north and four teeth south.
Slooshing, sloshing through the swamp,
The hippo's teeth go chomp, chomp, chomp!

(Form a huge mouth using both arms and hands)
(Wiggle top hand; wiggle bottom hand)
(sway to mime wading through the swamp)
(chomp the huge jaws several times)
