Crocodile, Crocodile Sitting on a Log

Finding crocodile fingerplays and movements that aren't scary is a challenge. This fingerplay is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers--no one is eaten!

Crocodile, crocodile, sitting on a log.

Down in the water he sees a frog.

Down goes the alligator.

Around goes the log.

Away swims the frog.

Put hands together.  Keep heel of palms together, but open and close fingers to make an alligators jaw opening and  closing.

Place side of one hand over eyes as if searching for  something.

Hold left hand flat with palm facing up.  Hold right hand poised over right shoulder.  Dive down, palm down, slapping left hand on the way.

Rolling motion with both hands.

Place hands back to back, and make swimming motions.
