Opening and Closing Song

Page history last edited by Debbie Lewis 15 years, 1 month ago

When to Use

Use opening and closing songs for younger age audiences only: Baby / Toddler, Preschool / Kindergarten, and Early Elementary.

Don't worry about opening or closing songs for Later Elementary or Middle / High School groups.  They consider themselves too mature!

The songs below are color-coded by age-group, but there's a lot of flexibility here.  Many of them work well for multiple age-groups.

How to Perform

Just choose a song you know the tune for.  (If you don't know the tune for a particular song, substitute a tune you do know--or just make one up!)

If you are not particularly tuneful, just remember that enthusiasm and a big smile are much more important than flawless execution.  (Half your audience can't sing, either!)

Depending on your choice, your closing song can be the same as your opener.
