Song: Five Green and Speckled Frogs

Page history last edited by Meredith Ann Pierce 15 years, 9 months ago

"Five Green and Speckled Frogs"

A great toe-tapping backwards-counting song for Preschool / Kindergarten audiences.

Five green and speckled frogs

Sat on their speckled logs,

     Eating some most delicious bugs.

          Yum!  Yum!

One jumped into the pool,

Where it was nice and cool.

     Then-there-were  just-four green-and speckled frogs.

         Glub!  Glub!

(hold up five fingers)

(drum fingers on "log" [other arm])

(rub tummy)

(diving motion with hand)

(wipe sweat from brow--whew!)

(hold up four fingers)

Four green and speckled frogs . . . just-three green-and speckled frogs.  Glub!  Glub!

Three green and speckled frogs . . . just-two green-and speckled frogs.  Glub!  Glub!

Two green and speckled frogs . . . just-one green-and speckled frog.  Glub!  Glub!

One green and speckled frog . . . no green-and speckled frogs!  Glub!  Glub!

No green and speckled frogs

Sat on their speckled logs,

     Eating some most delicious bugs.

          Yum!  Yum!

They're swimming in the pool,

Where it is nice and cool.

[SPOKEN]: Hey, good idea--let's join them!

Let's all be green and speckled frogs!

         Splash!  Glub!  Glub!  Whew!

(sadly hold up fist)

(hold up arm as a log)

(rub tummy)

(swimming motions with hands)

(wipe sweat from brow)

(hold up finger)

(nodding)

(diving, swimming, whew!)
